FAQ’s

What are dippy eggs?

Dippy eggs are simply soft boiled eggs that you have with toast soldiers – fingers of toast that are just the right size for dipping. Simply pop your soft boiled egg into an egg cup, take the top off, and dip your toast into the gooey centre. Delicious!

How do you crack the top of a dippy egg?

There’s a few ways to crack the top of a dippy egg. The first plan of attack is to gently tap the top of the egg with a spoon, cracking the shell so you can peel it off with your fingers or dig into the egg with a spoon. If you’re feeling adventurous, you can also grab a butter knife and hit the side of the egg straight on, then lift the lid of the egg to expose the gooey centre.

Why are bread sticks called soldiers

Bread sticks are called soldiers because these thin strips of bread line up straight and evenly, just like a parade of soldiers. It’s a British term that’s been around since the 1960’s, but no matter what you call them, one thing’s for sure – they make for a fun breakfast!
