Are you Bakers Delight’s next Baker or Apprentice of the Year??
This year the competition returns even bigger and better, with regional baking competitions, phone interviews and a final bread judging competition to be held at this year’s POD Meetings. There will be a winning Baker and Apprentice from each region and an overall National Baker and Apprentice of the Year.
This year we are delighted to announce that the National Baker and Apprentice will take home a $1000 cash prize, and their franchisee will take home 1 tonne of flour!

There are 3 stages to the competition.
Stage 1
Regional baking competition
NSW, VIC, QLD May 13 – 17, 2024
WA & SA May 20-21, 2024

Criteria: Scoresheets can be found on the portal. Drop your product off at a specified location to be judged that day. Judging locations can be found below.
Stage 2
Interview July 2024
Each contestant will partake in a short phone interview where they will answer questions about baking.
Stage 3
Second baking competition – POD Meetings, September/October 2024

Your franchisee will be attending the POD Meeting and can bring your bread on your behalf.
Product
Regional winners will be announced in Crumbs.
National winners are announced on the second night of the winner’s study tour.
Winners from each region will take part in a two and a half day Melbourne study tour where we will visit our partners Manildra & Allied Pinnacle as well as a scheduling workshop with the Product team. Dinner with the CEO’s and Founders of Bakers Delight is also included as well as all flights, accommodation, and transfers in Melbourne.
National winners receive $1000 cash prize, and their franchisee receives 1 tonne of flour.
Day 1 Monday 11th November
Arrive in Melbourne for celebratory drinks and activities in the Support office in Camberwell followed by dinner with the Product team.
Day 2 Tuesday 12th November
Today the study tour commences with visits to our key suppliers. Take part in a hands on demonstration with Manildra’s head Product Technologist and see one of Australia’s largest bread factories in action.
Day two finishes with dinner with joint CEO’s Elise and David and Founders Roger & Lesley where the National winners award will be presented.
Day 3 Wednesday 13th November
Take part in a scheduling workshop at our Support office with our Product and Training specialists before returning home.
